A detailed explanation for the TPC halving

Updated over 4 months ago

What is TPC Halving?

TPC Halving is a predefined event within the TPC network that reduces the block that can be mined.

The Halving essentially cuts the rate at which new TPC enters circulation.

What’s the TPC Halving Cycle?

The 4-cycle mechanism works by decreasing the rate at which new TPC are created, ensuring a steady supply in circulation.

First Halving

The initial halving event occurs when 1 - 1,000 TPAs are Minted, reducing the block reward.

Second Halving

The second halving is triggered by the Minting of 1,001 - 100,000 TPAs, continuing the gradual reduction in block rewards.

Third Halving

The third halving is triggered by the Minting of 100,001 - 1,000,000 TPAs, ensuring a steady supply of TPC in circulation.

Fourth Halving

The fourth halving is triggered by the Minting of 1,000,001 - 17,576,000 TPAs, ensuring a steady supply of TPC in circulation.

The Tiered Halving System

Milestone Triggers

The TPC halving events are not time based, but rather triggered by specific milestones in the minting of Teleport Plaque Addresses (TPAs).

Gradual Reduction

The halving system gradually reduces the block rewards, ensuring a steady and predictable supply of TPC in circulation.

Maintaining Stability

This tiered approach helps maintain the stability and long-term viability of the TPC ecosystem.
